Course fees and financial help

You may be entitled to a reduced fee, a concession fee, be eligible for financial support or to pay by instalments. This depends on personal circumstances.

Fees FAQs

Can I pay by instalments? You can spread the cost of your course if it is more than 12 weeks long.
Can I get financial help? Help with fees and childcare is available for eligible learners.
Do you offer free courses?

Learners planning to study a course at Level 2 or below, who are currently working and earning less than £20,572.50 (living inside London) or £16,009.50 (living outside London) annual gross salary or are in receipt of benefits, may not need to pay fees. Evidence of current entitlement must be provided. Other terms and conditions also apply.

Our employability, English and maths courses are all free.

Can I get a reduction?

We need to check what course you are enrolling on and what your age and income status is first. You may be entitled to a free or reduced cost place if you are working but on a low wage – as set out in GLA or ESFA funding rules or are in receipt of:

  • Job seeker’s allowance (JSA)
  • Employment support allowance (ESA) 
  • Universal Credit ` Working tax credit with income of less than £18,000
  • Income support
  • Housing Benefit
  • Pension guarantee credit
  • Carer’s allowance
  • Council tax reduction.

In some cases you must be actively seeking employment. Evidence of current entitlement must be provided. Other terms and conditions also apply.

Can I have a refund? Refunds are not normally granted unless we cancel the course. Please ask for a copy of our refunds policy.
I'm paying a concessionary fee, can I pay over the phone? If you are paying a reduced or concessionary fee or you need to attend an interview you can only enrol in person.
Am I eligible for an Advanced Learner Loan? Some of our courses are eligible for an Advanced Learner Loan. You can apply for an Advanced Learner Loan from the Student Loan Company to pay for your course if you are aged 19 or over. Your loan does not have to be repaid until you finish your course and are earning over £25,000 a year.
How do I pay? If you are paying a full fee you can pay by phone or post using a debit/credit card or by cheque. Reduced fees, instalments, discounts, vouchers and cash must be paid in person at one of our centres.
Are there additional costs? You may need to buy additional equipment or resources for a course. For some courses you may have to pay an additional fee to take an exam.
